Trump park idea brings pol hate mail
A QUEENS assemblywoman has been targeted with hate mail since she proposed legislation to rename Donald J. Trump State Park after the demonstrator who was killed last month in Charlottesville, Va., police said Wednesday.
Three postcards addressed to Nily Rozic (photo) have been received at her Union Turnpike office since last Thursday.
The writer referred to the Democrat, who is Jewish, with an antiSemitic slur. The writer also wrote about the “white race” and said “Tel Aviv should be nuked,” police said.
The cards were signed “1488,” a number favored by white supremacists. The 14 refers to its 14-word slogan, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,” and the 88 refers to “Heil Hitler,” because H is the eighth letter of the alphabet.
Trump Park, which straddles Westchester and Putnam Counties, would be renamed Heather Heyer State Park. Heyer, 32, was run down and killed by a racist at the Aug. 12 hate rally in Charlottesville, Va.
