$4M will cure claims
A COMPANY that owns two hospitals in Queens will pay $4 million to end allegations that it was too cozy with referring physicians.
MediSys Health Network sent in questionable Medicare claims for patients who were referred by physicians with “improper financial relationships” to MediSys, Brooklyn federal prosecutors said Tuesday. The network owns and operates Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center.
According to the signed settlement, the dealings stretched from July 2007 to October 2015. The $4 million payment will be carved up into several installments.
MediSys will concede no liability in the matter.
