Slash tot out of hosp
A BRONX TODDLER rescued by a good Samaritan after she was slashed by a blade-swinging nut was released from the hospital Thursday, neighbors said.
Three-year-old Bella PerezAquino was treated for a knife wound to one arm and released, but her mother, Jenny Aquino, 37, remains hospitalized at Lincoln Medical Center with two stab wounds to her stomach.
The mom and daughter were at their Cauldwell Ave. home in Woodstock when Christian Valdez, 28, bashed in their apartment door at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Valdez stabbed them both and chased them onto their third-floor fire escape, cops said.
Neighbor Rafael Lebron, 45 heard the commotion, grabbed a porcelain lamp and bashed it over Valdez’s head. Another neighbor scrambled up the fire escape ladder and lowered the little girl to safety. Aquino knows Valdez, who is homeless, from church and occasionally lets him stay with her. Valdez was charged Thursday morning with assault, burglary, child endangerment and harassment, police said. He was being treated at Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center.
