“Really, I was just sitting down . . . Overall, it’s just a weird situation,” he said.

Al Saud said he did not believe his being Arab had anything to do with his classmates’ reactions.

“You can’t really control what goes on Snapchat. Some guys panic, they spread the word,” he said.

“They did the right thing, I guess. If you suspect something is going down, then you should do your best to inform other people.”

The teen, who moved to the U.S. several years ago to finish high school and lives on the 52nd floor of the ritzy Frank Gehry-designed building on Spruce St., said he’d stop wearing the belt on campus if the school wanted him to — but he didn’t expect any further action against him.

“If I get punished for just wearing a belt, I think that’s a story,” Al Saud said.
