Preaching to the choir in Mariah suit

- Stephen Rex Brown

MARIAH CAREY has a professional choir feeling “Emotions” — of rage.

Broadway Inspirational Voices sued the pop diva Tuesday for $67,500, alleging she reneged on a deal to have the group join her for a Christmas concert series at Beacon Theater.

The choir company says it received little explanation for Carey’s abrupt decision on Nov. 28 not to use the group — just one week before the first of nine shows.

“We have decided to go another direction with regard to the choir,” was the reason offered by Michael Morobitto, Carey's production manager, according to the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court. He allegedly cited a “series of events beyond (his) control.”

The nonprofit group’s earnings from the gigs would have benefited underprivileged children, the suit claims.

The choir backed up Carey’s Christmas concert series in 2014 and received rave reviews, the paperwork says.
