Killed just before best pal’s funeral

-

HE WAS HOURS away from attending his best friend’s funeral in Brooklyn when he was crushed by an out-of-control tour bus on a Queens sidewalk early Monday. Henryk Wdowiak (inset), 68, had no time to react, and now his relatives in Flushing are planning his own memorial. “We were just talking about his friend Jurek’s death. He was telling me what a great guy Jurek was. We spoke about how he wanted to be cremated like his friend,” Wdowiak’s stepson Marcin Kurpiewski, 37, told the Daily News. Though eerie in retrospect, the conversation wasn’t morose, Kurpiewski said. Instead, Wdowiak talked about making the most out of life and how he was looking forward to enjoying his retirement, including an upcoming cruise to mark his 10-year anniversary with Kurpiewski’s mom. “He was trying to live his life. He said he knew in another 10 or 15 years he would have to leave this place, so he was trying to use his time wisely. They had so many plans. Then his life was cut short," Kurpiewski said. The family has started a GoFundMe page for his fu neral.
