BOOK ON THE KENNEDYS – CONFIDENTIAL:
TTHE KENNEDY CLAN is getting booked in 2020. Kennedy biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli is working on another book about America’s First Family, and we’re told that the timing has some Kennedys — and Cuomos — concerned. It’s slated to come out shortly before the next presidential race gets into gear.
“The working title is ‘Kennedys: Next Generation’ and he’s already interviewed more than 100 people,” according to one of those people. That source says that Taraborrelli has employed a half-dozen fact checkers to contact a list of 300 Kennedy insiders, and he’s very interested in Gov. Cuomo’s divorce from Kerry Kennedy. The two were married from 1990 to 2005, though the marriage began falling apart in 2003 amid reports that Kennedy (photo inset) had been having a fling with millionaire polo player Bruce Colley.
“Democratic insiders all want Cuomo to run for President,” we’re told. “Do you think Andrew Cuomo wants this laundry out there? That’s the last thing he needs if he’s going to make a presidential run.”
According to our source “So far, (Taraborrelli) has been told that Cuomo was boring and focused on work.”
Our bookworm also spoke to Taraborrelli about Carolyn Kennedy, whom we’re told “has Senate ambitions.” Taraborrelli’s book is likely to be released “a year or so” before the 2020 party conventions, we hear.
We’re told that Taraborrelli’s list of interviews runs the gamut — from family friends to ex-lovers with axes to grind.
“They’re going to be dredging up everything on Schwarzeneggers, Shrivers, Schlossbergs — this generation is every bit as troubled as the past ones,” we’re told. While past Kennedy bios have been about circumstance, “This one is about choices,” including Kerry’s divorce from Cuomo, according to our insider. And there’s reason to think Taraborrelli’s tome will get noticed. “His last book, ‘After Camelot’, was made into a film, and his next one, ‘Jackie, Ethel and Joan’, is out later this year and has already been optioned (for a film),” we’re told. Aside from his Kennedy trilogy, Taraborrelli has written hard-hitting books about Cher, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Beyoncé and The Hilton family.
