A GIANT

Play-maker for Big Blue?

-

Sullivan said, frankly, that there is as much frustration inside the Giants facility as outside right now about figuring out a solution to this start.

“There’s frustration, I’m sure, from all of our fans and from everyone on the outside looking in and, guess what? Our players are frustrated with themselves. We’re frustrated in ourselves as coaches, and I think when that comes to the forefront, you can either complain about it and point fingers and look for the blame or circle the wagons … and keep grinding away,” Sullivan said.

Frustration certainly is palpable. Marshall specifically was defensive Thursday about his poor season start.

He argued that his one-catch, Week 1 dud in Dallas was not a disappointment akin to his Week 2 clunker, since catches aren’t what define his performance. And he resented being asked if he’s still elite.

“We have tracking systems in our pads every single day and the GPS says I’m moving faster than I have in the last two years,” Marshall said. “So maybe that will help you out.”

But Marshall gets that he hasn’t done enough. “Good players need to play (well), elite players need to play elite, and big-time players need to make big plays in big situations,” he said. “That’s what it’s about.”

Beckham, on the other hand, has been the most relaxed Giants star through all of this so far.

He threw his full support behind the oftcriticized Manning. “”All day, every day,” Beckham said. “Do I believe in 10? Absolutely. Is he gonna lead us there? Absolutely.” And the star receiver even alluded to his explosive game against the Ravens last season as an example of what he can do.

“I always want to be a difference-maker, and I think last year, around Week 5, we were 2-3, there’s never really any panic in my eyes,” Beckham said. f only Beckham were physically capable of repeating that feat Sunday in Philadelphia. But if his ankle is still an issue and Marshall’s still searching for his mojo and Engram is out, panic would be the appropriate emotion to feel.
