A MAN critically injured when he jumped off the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx after being arrested by state police during a traffic stop had been caught with oxycodone, officials said Friday.

With his hands cuffed, Kevin Nivar, 24, leapt over the concrete barrier on the elevated roadway and fell about 20 feet to the street below near Rosedale Ave. in Soundview during a ill-advised escape attempt about 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

Cops had pulled over the car Nivar was riding in for having an improperly displayed license plate and heavily tinted windows. He was arrested after police found oxycodone pills on him.

After Nivar jumped, medics rushed him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was in critical but stable condition Friday. He was charged with drug possession.

Cops also arrested the driver, Jose Madera, 33, and passenger Xavier Santana, 27, when a loaded gun was found near the engine. Madera was also given summonses for the illegal tint and improperly displayed license plate.
