Right on, John

-

Friday, echoing his show of guts and grit in July, John McCain delivered what might prove to be the fatal blow to frantic Republican efforts to shred the Affordable Care Act. Good for him for declaring that he could not in good conscience support the disastrous so-called Graham-Cassidy bill. Not even his close pal Lindsey Graham’s leading role in the latest repeal could overcome McCain’s principled misgivings over the GOP’s continued abuse of Senate “regular order” — minimal hearings, limited amendments, no Congressional Budget Office analysis — in a bid to replace current law with a dung sandwich. Republicans in Congress, and the President who cheers them on, reap what they sow.
