WHO THE KNICKS GET

The Knicks didn’t get much in return for Carmelo Anthony, but who did they get? We break down the two players (they also got a 2018 second-round pick):

ENES KANTER CENTER

AGE: 25 HEIGHT: 6-11

COLLEGE: Kentucky

LAST SEASON'S AVERAGES: 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 21.3 minutes

STRENGTHS: The former third overall pick in 2011 is a smooth offensive player with a strong post-up game. He can flat out score in a halfcourt set.

WEAKNESSES: Defense. He's a slow-footed big man who struggles with pick-and-roll, transition defense and protecting the rim.

FIT WITH KNICKS: Hard to see where Kanter fits unless the Knicks trade somebody. They now have four centers — not counting Kristaps Porzingis — and young core player Willy Hernangomez does many of the same things as Kanter (not to mention they still have $56 million committed to Joakim Noah).

GOOD TO KNOW: Because of his opposition to the Turkish government, Kanter is a wanted man in his home country and had his passport canceled. His family also disowned him. Kanter remains outspoken against Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, labeling him, "the Hitler of our century."

DOUG McDERMOTT FORWARD

AGE: 25 HEIGHT: 6-8

COLLEGE: Creighton

LAST SEASON’S AVERAGES: 9.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 22 minutes

STRENGTHS: A nice offensive player with a career 40% 3-point percentage. McDermott averaged 26.7 points per game as a senior at Creigton and was named NCAA Player of the Year.

WEAKNESSES: A lack of athleticism really hurts him on defense and prevents him from being an NBA starter.

FIT WITH KNICKS: The Knicks are bereft of wing players and can use McDermott for scoring punch off the bench behind Tim Haradaway Jr. and Courtney Lee. Although not as good a defender, he essentially replaces Justin Holiday.

GOOD TO KNOW: McDermott’s nickname was “Dougie McBuckets” in college and he was so beloved at the Omaha school that a local columnist pleaded for the school to erect a statue.
