Sneak peak at Boss’ agenda for Broadway
AS THE Broadway fall season gets in gear, the question isn’t Who’s the Boss, but What’s the Boss — Bruce Springsteen — playing during his debut concert show.
The answer may have emerged during a tryout run of the loosely autobiographical “Springsteen on Broadway,” which he performed last Tuesday on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.
As reported by nj.com, two blogs — setlist.fm and the Springsteen fan site Blog It All Night — have posted the set list from the show, which was an invitationonly event for friends. Some of the songs rehearsed included such hits as “My Hometown,” “Born in the U.S.A.” and “Thunder Road.”
“Springsteen on Broadway” has become the hottest ticket in town.
At the annual Flea Market and Auction on Sunday to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, deep-pocketed Boss fans paid $10,000 for a pair of tickets to the show’s opening night performance on Oct. 12 at the Walter Kerr Theatre, along with the afterparty.
