Hitmaker’s Cardi trick
BRONX-BORN rapper Cardi B has scored her first Billboard No. 1 hit with her debut single “Bodak Yellow” — making her the first female rapper in nearly 20 years to hit the top of the charts as a solo artist.
The last rapper to do so was Lauryn Hill in 1998, when “Doo Wop (That Thing)” ruled the charts for two weeks.
The 24-year-old Cardi — real name Belcalis Almanzar — also managed another feat: dethroning pop queen Taylor Swift.
Swift, whose “Look What You Made Me Do” had spent three weeks at No. 1, dipped to No. 3.
