How you can help
NEW YORKERS are encouraged to donate to relief effo rts of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The following items are needed: batteries, flashlights, portable lanterns, diapers, baby wipes, cases of water and feminine hygiene products. All items must be unopened in original packaging. The dropoff sites will accept don ations every day between 9 a .m. and 6 p.m. The full list of sites is at: www. ny.gov/puertorico. New Yorkers can also donate cash via “Unidos,” a relief fund set up by the Hispanic Federation. Text a message to 41444. Type UNIDOS followed by your name and the amount you want to give.
