Sword maniac given 25 years

- Christina Carrega

A COLD-HEARTED Brooklyn man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Thursday for nearly chopping his landlord’s head off with a samurai sword.

Rasel Mohammed Siddiquee had pleaded guilty to manslaughter for slitting the throat of 57-year-old Mahuddin Mahmud and leaving him for dead in the basement of his building on McDonald Ave. near Avenue C in Borough Park on Jan. 6, 2014.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Neil Firetog sentenced Siddiquee, 30, as Mahmud’s widow, Afroza Begum, cried loudly and was consoled by relatives.

“I’ll never get him back,” she howled outside the courthouse. “This is not the reason to kill him! What is the reason he killed him?”

Siddiquee told detectives Mahmud “humiliated and teased” him for not having a lot of money.
