FORTE OUT FOR JAGS

The Jets ruled out running back Matt Forte (turf toe) and tight end Jordan Leggett (knee) for Sunday’s home game against the Jaguars. Leggett hasn’t practiced this regular season.

Starting right tackle Brandon Shell (shoulder) is doubtful. Either Ben Ijalana or Brent Qvale will start in Shell’s place. Bowles said that choice will be a game-time decision.

Outside linebacker Josh Martin (ankle) is also doubtful. Defensive lineman Mo Wilkerson (shoulder) was limited in practice Friday and is questionable. Wilkerson has a Grade 1 AC joint sprain and didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday.

“If he’s out there, we expect him to be a full go,” Bowles said of Wilkerson. “It doesn’t impact him at all.”

Defensive lineman Kony Ealy, who was excused from practice Wednesday and Thursday to attend to a personal matter, returned Friday. He will play Sunday.

ANTHEM NARRATIVE

Bowles said the Jets will meet Saturday night to formulate a plan for Sunday’s national anthem. “You can’t lose sight of the narrative,” Bowles said of the league-wide protests and shows of unity. “If everybody has the narrative right, then it’s a great thing. If they don’t and are doing it for different reasons, then it’s not.”
