THIS GUY can run rings around your average pickpocket.

Detectives are searching for an amazingly smooth operator who managed to pluck a $35,000 engagement ring off a woman’s finger in Chelsea just by brushing against her hand, police said Saturday.

The 30-year-old victim told investigators she was on W. 18th St. near Fifth Ave. when the thief bumped into her hand and slipped off with her rock about 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

The ring is platinum and boasts 16 full-cut diamonds, the victim told police.

The high-priced theft happened so quickly that the victim couldn’t tell who had bumped into her, she told police.

There have been no arrests.

Attempts to reach the victim for comment were unsuccessful Saturday.
