AN ARGUMENT over car repairs led to the death of a Brooklyn auto body worker, police said Saturday.

Richard Essor, 33, is charged with slaying his 62-year-old mechanic at the Total Auto Care Shop on East 98th St. near Ditmas Ave. in East Flatbush around 7:05 p.m. Friday, according to cops.

The victim, identified only as Gary by co-workers, was shot twice in the chest. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died, authorities said.

His shocked colleagues set up a small cardboard memorial inside the shop Saturday night.

“He most easygoing person I’ve ever met. I’ve never seen him in an argument with nobody,” said one man who gave his name only as Jay.

“I can’t even find a word to describe the level of empty a person had to have to do this senseless crime.”
