Bx. bldg. hit by 2nd fire in days

A RAGING fire broke out Sunday in the same Bronx building where a blaze had erupted two days earlier, authorities and witnesses said.

Firefighters raced to the three-story building on Watson Ave. near Evergreen Ave. in Soundview at 2:30 p.m. after the fire ripped through the top floor, the FDNY said.

“It was like déjà vu,” said Nilda Rodriguez, 58, who lives nearby and watched firefighters extinguishing the flames Friday on the same floor.

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said two firefighters were injured and are expected to recover.

Nigro said marshals determined Friday’s fire was sparked by an electrical wire. Sunday’s blaze is under investigation.
