Maniac’s dad was FBI’s most wanted

- Minyvonne Burke

DADDY WORE the pants — and the cuffs — in the Paddock house. Bald-headed bank robber Benjamin Paddock, aka “Chromedome,” was a federal inmate and the father of Las Vegas mass shooter Stephen Paddock. The son was just age 7 when his dad was busted in a string of Arizona bank robberies. Pop was added to the FBI’s infamous most wanted list after escaping from a Texas federal prison in 1968 following his conviction for a $4,600 heist. He was improbably arrested in Oregon, where Paddock (photo) was living under an alias and running the state’s first licensed bingo parlor. Paddock was also accused of robbing two other Valley National Bank branches for more than $20,000, but the charges were dropped after his conviction.
