Untold acts of bravery amid chaos

‘HOW DID I NOT GET SHOT?’

AS AUTHORITIES try to determine a Las Vegas shooter’s motive for raining gunfire and terror on an outdoor concert Sunday night, and police try to sort out how he accessed so many weapons, survivor Jasmine Barbusca has a burning question of her own: “How did I not get shot?” Barbusca, a mother of two, said the bullets fell like rain, and somehow she managed to not get wet.

“None of us knew if the bullets were going to hit us,” Barbusca told ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “I don’t know how I didn’t get shot. By (the) grace of God.”

Barbusca said she saw countless acts of bravery.

“There were men going over their wives, their girlfriends, to block them,” she said. “Unfortunately, those men got shot, but I mean, there was lives saved.”

Barbusca said she saw one man as he helped many women climb the fence to escape.

He “probably saved a good 20 women’s lives,” she said.

Headliner Jason Aldean was about six songs into his set when the carnage erupted — sending New Yorker Kenny Forrest, 32, and his girlfriend Bianca Lamberti, 28, diving into a dumpster for cover.

They hid inside for about an hour, listening to the ricochet of shots and bloodcurdling screams.

When they finally climbed out, “mayhem” awaited them, Forrest said.

“There were bodies all over the place, not even at the festival. In front of Hooters there was a guy dead hanging out of his car,” said Forrest, who flew back to JFK airport with Lamberti late Monday.

“You saw the terror on people’s faces,” he said.

His brother and sister were also at the festival and got out safely, Forrest said.

He and Lamberti were on their way back from the bathroom when the first shots rang out.

“The scariest part is that we didn’t know where the bullets were coming from,” said Lamberti. “The shots just kept coming and coming. There was blood all over the sidewalks and people were just covered in tarps and sheets.

“It was the most traumatizing thing ever,” she said.
