Knifed by Chelsea poop guy

- BY KERRY BURKE and ROCCO PARASCANDOLA

A 72-YEAR-OLD grandfather was slashed in the stomach when he confronted an apparently homeless man defecating outside of a Manhattan building — and now he’s afraid the attacker will try to finish him off.

“I’m scared,” the victim, speaking on the condition his name not be printed, told the Daily News on Monday. “I wake up all the time worrying about whether he’ll come back.”

The man was cut at about 7 a.m. Friday outside an apartment building on W. 21st St., near Seventh Ave. in Chelsea, where his wife, 62, is the super.

He said he was looking out a first-floor window, saw the suspect going through the garbage and stepped outside to see what was going on. By then the man had stepped down the stairs leading to a basement apartment and was defecating. “What are doing?” the victim asked. The man muttered something. “He had his pants down to make poop-poop,” the victim said. “He pulled his pants up and went upstairs. I kicked him with my foot, and he swung around with something in his hand. I couldn’t tell what it was, a knife or what, but I saw the point. It went right through my jacket and shirt and it cut me down the side.” The 4-inch slash required stitches. After he went to a doctor, the victim filed a report at the 10th Precinct stationhouse and described the suspect as black, 50 to 60 years old and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He said the man was dirty, leading him to believe he was homeless. The suspect wore a black baseball cap and a black hoodie, but the hood was up so the victim didn’t get a good look at his face.
