Soccer star gets boot at Disney

-

U.S. women’s national soccer team star Alex Morgan was one of four people asked to leave Epcot Center at Disney World on Sunday, according to a TMZ report.

According to the report, Morgan and three others in her party — including MLS players Giles Barnes and Donny Toia of Orlando City — were tossed from the park after things got too rowdy at a bar between Morgan’s group and another.

“The Orlando City SC organization is aware of a situation that occurred at Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park earlier this week and is awaiting official communication from Disney or the Orange County Police Department,” the club said in a statement to the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday. “The club will address the matter internally when there is a full understanding of what occurred.”

A second TMZ report says Morgan and her group were “highly impaired” and yelling at employees before being removed from the park, including Morgan loudly telling cops that she knew the Orlando SWAT team — as if that would protect her somehow.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, an incident report had not been written yet, although the Orange County Sheriff’s Department requested one, which will be a public record upon completion.

Morgan is a forward for the Orlando Pride of the NWSL and a star of the United States women’s national soccer team. She was the youngest member of the 2011 team that earned silver in that year’s World Cup and was a key contributor to the World Cup-winning team in 2015. — Zachary Ripple
