Teacher’s aide in upskirt nab had 500 kid pix
THE CITY teacher’s aide accused of taking an upskirt picture of a Bronx teen’s privates is an avid photographer — an estimated 500 images of schoolgirls have been found on his iPhone, a police source said Wednesday.
The case against Michael Olan was developing Wednesday, with authorities poised to search his Mount Vernon, Westchester County, home and the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office considering prosecuting the case in Federal Court, the source said.
Olan, 29, was busted at 4:50 p.m. Monday as the northbound No. 2 train rolled into the Pelham Parkway station, cops said. Officers Britney John and Michael Daly saw him kneeling in front of the unwitting 16-year-old and pointing his cell phone up her skirt, police said.
He told the officers, “I was curious to see what kind of underwear she was wearing,” according to court papers. He was charged with unlawful surveillance and endangering the welfare of a child.
Cops said it appears at least some of Olan’s photos were taken in a school building. He was assigned to Public School 72 in East Harlem but has been suspended.Olan, who is out on bail, could not be reached for comment.
