Net-ting more $ with price hike

- Denis Slattery

BINGE WATCHING is about to get a little harder on your wallet.

Netflix is raising its monthly fees for the first time in two years, hiking costs for two of its three subscription plans, the streaming service announced on Thursday.

The increase comes as the company has upped its spending on original content, including hit shows like “Stranger Things” and “House of Cards.”

The company’s mid-range plan, allowing streaming on two devices at the same time, will increase a dollar to $10.99 per month.

Its top-tier plan, allowing streaming on four screens in high definition, will bump up two bucks to $13.99 per month.

Basic Netflix subscribers can chill — the lowest tier plan will remain $7.99 per month. The hikes will hit in mid-November, the company said.
