Our nukes will ‘deter’ U.S. – Kim

NORTH KOREAN leader Kim Jong Un is keeping up the war of words, saying his nuclear weapons are a “powerful deterrent” ensuring the isolated country’s sovereignty.

North Korean state media on Sunday reported Kim’s tough talk — hours after President Trump said “only one thing will work” with North Korea.

Trump didn’t say what that “one thing” was, but the statement stirred fears that military action was on his mind.

North Korea’s nuclear weapons are a “powerful deterrent firmly safeguarding the peace and security in the Korean peninsula and northeast Asia,” Kim reportedly said on Saturday, referring to the “protracted nuclear threats of the U.S. imperialists.”
