Built on tradition, SJC is strengthened by our willingness to innovate and commitment to keeping our costs down and standards high. In fact, Washington Monthly ranks St. Joseph’s the #9 “Best Bang for the Buck” college in the Northeast.

Students looking to pursue STEM careers have a choice of programs ranging from biology, chemistry, computer information technology and mathematics to secondary education degrees in biology, chemistry and mathematics. Led by a faculty of industry leaders in an open, supportive atmosphere, our classes are small—the average studentto-faculty ratio is 11:1—so you’ll get to know your professors and they’ll get to know you. SJC Brooklyn STEM programs enable our students to make a name for themselves while making a difference in the world. Our students have been selected for prestigious fellowships—at home and abroad—and have participated in the highly competitive Microsoft Data Science Summer Program, which is reserved for the brightest minds in mathematics and computer science in New York City. Others have gained hands-on experience through prestigious internships that have included Google, the international media firm Thomson Reuters and MLB Advanced Media.

SJC Brooklyn’s STEM EMPOWERS (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Encourages, Mentors and Prepares Others With Educational Resources and Scholarships) scholarship program can give you the opportunity to join them and share your love of science and math with future generations. Selected juniors, seniors and graduate students will receive mentoring, academic assistance, assistance with teaching placement and a minimum of $10,000 for at least one year.

SJC graduates leave campus with the combination of classroom instruction and professional experience that’s highly regarded in today’s job market. Every graduate is part of a family of more than 35,000 alumni, who help provide networking opportunities and tangible jobs.
