Pal busted in stab slay of Bx. man
POLICE HAVE arrested a Bronx man they say fatally stabbed a family friend during a fight in the Bronx, authorities said Saturday.
Wander Rosario, 21, surrendered to authorities a few hours after he allegedly killed 20-yearold Andi Tejada.
Rosario was arguing with Tejada inside the suspect’s apartment on Morris Ave. in Fordham when he grabbed a knife and repeatedly stabbed his victim about 4:15 p.m. Friday, according to cops. He ran off after the killing.
Other people in the apartment said Rosario knew Tejada’s family. The two were alone in a back room, so they didn’t know what the men were arguing about.
Medics rushed Tejada to St. Barnabas Hospital but he could not be saved.
After a friend talked Rosario into surrendering, Rosario was charged with murder, cops said.
He refused to say anything about the killing and demanded a lawyer, police sources said.
His arraignment was pending Saturday.
Tejada’s death comes as the city marks a nearly 24% drop in murders this year.
As of Thursday, the city had seen 214 murders this year — compared with 280 during the same period last year, according to NYPD statistics.
