The unhinged President of the United States, who reignited a dormant NFL flag controversy to divert attention from the chaos and tragedy of his presidency, managed to disrespect the flag AND the military simultaneously on national TV.

In one of the most shockingly clueless displays of ignorance, the fool on the Hill Wednesday remained seated and even joked around with that other “America First” man, Fox’s Sean Hannity, during a flag ceremony as a bugle sounded “Retreat” and “To the Color” at an Air National Guard hangar.

And so in keeping with the President’s own demand that NFL owners fire players who disrespect the flag, Donald Trump should do the same and fire himself.

Ignorance of military protocol is no excuse. Hell, it’s not even rational.

When “Retreat” sounded during Robin Williams’ show for U.S. troops in Kuwait in 2008, for example, the comic immediately stopped and faced the flag. That’s the difference between a comic and a clown.
