HARV KICKED OUT

-

The world’s most famous kick line can rest assured that Harvey Weinstein has been booted from their lives. What’s next for the Rockettes’ seasonal New York Spectacular is anyone’s guess, but some dancers are glad to know that Weinstein will not be waiting in the wings when — and if — the summer program he helped launch takes the stage next year. “A lot of (the dancers) thought he was a creepy old man,” according to a source close to the Rockettes. We’re told that recent news of the movie mogul’s misdeeds only added to that sentiment. “They’re relieved he won’t be standing in the back of the dark theater taking notes.” The New York Spectacular was launched as a collaboration between Weinstein Live Entertainment and James Dolan’s MSG Entertainment in 2014, but its debut was postponed when the producers decided it wasn’t up to par. When the show finally did open in 2015, Daily News critic Joe Dziemianowicz wrote that it had “all the wit and charm of a shopping list.”

The program returned last year, then took a break this year, when Radio City went back to hosting the Tony Awards, which had briefly moved to the Beacon Theater in 2016 to make room for the Rockettes. Weinstein was not a producer that year.

It was announced last week that Radio City will host the Tonys again on June 10, though the Rockettes’ website currently says only that the show is “Coming Next Summer 2018.” No dates have been announced.

But whatever happens next won’t involve Weinstein.

Dolan resigned from the Weinstein Co. board of directors in June 2016, with both men putting out press releases stating that they remain close friends. Dolan has not addressed whether he knew his pal and former partner was a sexual predator.

“Everyone thought (Weinstein) hanging around was creepy,” said our insider. The Rockettes are tuning up for their hugely succesful annual Christmas Spectacular, with which Weinstein was never involved.

An MSG rep tells us: “Mr. Weinstein has not been involved with any production involving the Rockettes since early 2015, he had no involvement with our 2016 production, and there was never any intention for him to become involved again.”
