WHAT ABOUT BOB?

It runs in the family – Weinstein’s bro faces sex harass accusation

HARVEY WEINSTEIN wasn’t the only bad apple to fall from the family tree, a new accuser said Tuesday.

TV producer Amanda Segel claimed Harvey’s younger brother Bob Weinstein sexually harassed her last year while she worked on the TV drama “The Mist.”

Segel told Variety.com that Bob Weinstein, co-founder of Miramax and remaining chairman of the Weinstein Co., pestered her with date requests, joked he could fire her and got angry when she rejected his advances.

Bob Weinstein, who turns 63 Wednesday, denied the accusations through his lawyer.

“Variety’s story about Bob Weinstein is riddled with false and misleading assertions by Ms. Segel and we have the emails to prove it,” lawyer Bert Fields said.

“But even if you believe what she says, it contains not a hint of any inappropriate touching or even any request for such touching. There is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment, and even if you believed what this person asserts there is no way it would amount to that,” he said.

According to Variety, Segel claims Bob Weinstein invited her to a private dinner at Dan Tana’s restaurant in Los Angeles last year after first asking her co-workers if she was single.

During the awkward meal, Bob Weinstein asked for Segel’s age and said he didn’t want to date anyone younger than his daughter, she claimed.

Segel alleged Bob Weinstein asked her to join him alone in his hotel suite that night and later invited her to a house he’d rented in Malibu.

She claimed that between June and August 2016, he continued to ask her out and suggested he could toss her from her job if she refused.

According to Variety, Segel said Bob Weinstein berated her in front of her colleagues for a work issue that wasn’t her fault after she rebuffed him.

Segel eventually got a lawyer involved and won an agreement that Bob Weinstein would not contact her, the website reported.

“‘No’ should be enough,” Segel told Variety. “After ‘No,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept (saying) that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘No’ is enough from now on.”

In a statement obtained by the Daily News last week, Bob Weinstein blasted his older brother as a “sick” person who needed help. He spoke out after the New York Times published a blockbuster report saying Harvey Weinstein, 65, sexually harassed actress Ashley Judd and settled claims with at least eight women.

The New Yorker reported three women have accused him of rape.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Mira Sorvino, Rosanna Arquette, Lauren Holly and Lena Headey are among the dozens of actresses now claiming Harvey Weinstein targeted them with unwanted advances.

The disgraced movie mogul has denied he sexually assaulted anyone.

“My brother Harvey is obviously a very sick man,” Bob Weinstein said in his statement last week. “He has proven himself to be a world class liar.”
