Freed hostage taken to hosp
AN AMERICAN mother of three who was rescued from the Taliban last week was rushed to a Canadian hospital, where she remained Tuesday night.
Former hostage Joshua Boyle said his wife, Caitlan Coleman, was hospitalized on Monday. He did not explain why or where she was taken in an email to The Associated Press. Boyle is Canadian, and the couple and their children arrived Friday in Toronto.
“My wife has been through hell, and she has to be my first priority right now,” Boyle wrote.
The couple was abducted while backpacking in Afghanistan and rescued after five harrowing years with the Taliban-linked Haqqani network. Their three children, ages 4, 2, and 6 months, were born while they were being held.
A fourth child was killed by the terrorist group.
