Cuffed Bx. susp bolts from cops
A DOMESTIC violence suspect gave cops the slip in a Bronx park, police said Friday.
Cops were scrambling to find the man, Arius Hopkins, who they say was carrying a gun before he was arrested and escaped.
Police responding to a report of domestic abuse showed up at the Parkside Houses in Allerton about 10:40 p.m. Thursday looking for Hopkins, 23.
They spotted him in a park outside the development with a gun. He ran from them but they tackled him.
While cops searched the park for the weapon, Hopkins got away and ran with his hands still cuffed behind his back. He was last seen running south on Bronx Park East toward Allerton Ave.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call (800) 577-TIPS.
