Cad indicted in gal pal’s burn death
A BROOKLYN grand jury has indicted a heartless driver caught on video leaving his doomed gal pal trapped inside his burning car after he crashed.
Saeed Ahmad is expected to be arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court at a later date for second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and other charges for the Oct. 14 crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Prospect Expressway.
Police said Ahmad was weaving in and out of traffic in his Infiniti 35G about 4 a.m. before he slammed into the median and the car went up in flames. Ahmad’s 25-year-old passenger, Harleen Grewal, was trapped inside and burned to death.
As the car burned behind him, Ahmad, 23, was seen on a cell phone video casually hailing a cab to take him to Maimonides Medical Center. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
