Jury picked in cop’s rage-slay case
A COMPLETE jury was chosen Friday for the first case under Gov. Cuomo’s 2015 executive order to have the state attorney general’s office prosecute police-involved deaths of unarmed civilians.
Five men and seven women will hear testimony from 18 witnesses, review evidence and view surveillance videos of the July 4, 2016, fatal shooting of motorist Delrawn Small by off-duty NYPD Officer Wayne Isaacs in a Brooklyn road-rage incident.
Isaacs, 38, is accused of gunning down Small, 37, on Atlantic Ave. near Bradford St. in East New York in the presence of Small’s girlfriend and stepchildren.
The cop was driving home from his shift at the 79th Precinct when he allegedly cut off Small’s vehicle, leading to an altercation.
Isaacs told detectives on the scene Small punched him in the face and he opened fire in self-defense.
