Weinstein ends week of therapy

- BY PETER SBLENDORIO

HARVEY WEINSTEIN has finished the week-long therapy program he enrolled in after dozens of women accused him of sexual misconduct — and his psychologist there says the disgraced filmmaker was a committed patient.

The shrink, who kept his identity private, told TMZ Weinstein, 65, was focused and “invested in the program” during his treatment sessions in Arizona — despite recent reports stating otherwise.

“He showed up for all the meetings and was fully engaged,” the psychologist told the celebrity gossip website.

The sessions were part of an out-patient program focused on helping Weinstein handle “his anger, his attitude toward others, boundary work and the beginnings of work on empathy,” the psychologist said.

The doctor believes “time will tell” whether Weinstein actually made strides during the therapy work.

Weinstein will reportedly remain in Arizona for the next month to avoid distractions and receive follow up treatments.

People magazine reported last week Weinstein was “not listening to anyone” during treatment.

Over 40 women, including actresses Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, have come forward in recent weeks to accuse Weinstein of either sexually harassing or sexually assaulting them in the past. Several others, including actress Rose McGowan, have accused Weinstein of rape.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex and on Friday refuted Lupita Nyong’o’s claims he sexually harassed her at his Connecticut home six years ago.

Weinstein, who issued the denial through a rep, says the accusations Nyong’o made in an essay published by The New York Times does not match up with his memory.

“Mr. Weinstein has a different recollection of the events, but believes Lupita is a brilliant actress and a major force for the industry,” a rep for Weinstein said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “Last year, she sent a personal invitation to Mr. Weinstein to see her in her Broadway show ‘Eclipsed.’ ”

The Oscar-winning actress, 34, claims Weinstein invited her to his Westport home in 2011 — while she was a student at Yale — for a private movie screening. She says he brought her up to his bedroom just 15 minutes in, asked if he could give her a massage and began to remove his pants, prompting her to flee.
