6-8 The Yankees dropped to 6-8 all-time in Game 7s. Their last win in a Game 7 was the 2003 ALCS against the Red Sox. They drop to 1-2 in ALCS Game 7s having lost the 2004 ALCS to the Red Sox. This was the Astros’ first-ever Game 7 win.

Lance McCullers, Jr. gave the Astros four scoreless innings of relief on three days’ rest. The right-hander got through the heart of the order, including striking out Yankee slugger Aaron Judge on three straight curveballs in the eighth and Gary Sanchez with the same nasty curves in the ninth.
