Sex assault at Standard hotel: cops

- Laura Dimon

A WOMAN visiting from Nebraska was raped at the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District early Sunday, cops said.

The 27-year-old victim met Richard Desprez, 24, at the hotel bar and they went up to his room just after midnight, where he allegedly raped her.

After the assault the woman ran down to the lobby and alerted a hotel employee, who called the police.

The cops cuffed Desprez at the landmark hotel over the High Line park and charged him with rape. The traumatized woman was taken to a nearby hospital.

In a separate incident about four hours earlier, a woman walking in Harlem was startled when a teenage boy, his pants at his ankles, grabbed her by the back of the head.

The woman was walking near 127th St. and Convent Ave. when the teen pulled her head toward his crotch and demanded oral sex before running off, cops said.

Police were still searching for the culprit Sunday night.
