Falcons’ Quinn has no regrets about not

DAN Quinn interviewe­d with the Jets after the 2015 regular season while Woody Johnson’s club was searching for its next head coach. But he has no regrets about eventually landing with the Falcons, who travel to MetLife Stadium Sunday for a matchup with Todd Bowles and Gang Green.

“Things worked out as they should have,” Quinn said Wednesday on a conference call with local reporters. “Todd is doing a great job there, and I am really happy here.”

At the time of their coaching search in January of 2015, Quinn was in the midst of a Super Bowl run with the Seahawks. The Jets interviewe­d Quinn in Seattle and came away impressed. They wanted him as their next coach. But because of NFL rules, the Jets couldn’t make contact with Quinn again until after the Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs.

Not wanting to lose Bowles to another team, the Jets offered the then-Cardinals defensive coordinato­r the job, ending their chances with Quinn, who signed with the Falcons a day after the Seahawks lost to the Patriots in an epic Super Bowl. Quinn led the Falcons to Super Bowl LI.

“It’s an awesome thing to get a chance to talk about a team and their organizati­on,” Quinn said of his interview process. “And the Jets are certainly an organizati­on that, starting from ownership,
