Wake-up call for Tiger in DUI
TIGER WOODS pleaded guilty to reckless driving Friday after he was arrested for driving under the influence in May.
The golf great will enter a program for first-time DUI offenders that requires him to spend a year on probation and pay a $250 fine plus court costs. He’s also required to attend DUI school, complete 50 hours of community service and attend a workshop at which victims describe how impaired drivers damaged their lives.
Woods was arrested around 2 a.m. on May 29, when officers found him unconscious in the back of his Mercedes-Benz, about 15 miles from his home in Jupiter, Fla. The court said Woods had already completed the community service requirement, DUI school and the recommended treatment. He also must submit to regular drug tests as part of the plea agreement, since he was intoxicated with prescription drugs and marijuana when he was arrested.
If he meets all of the requirements outlined by the judge, the DUI charge will be expunged from his record.
