MIKE MYERS & THE PRINCE

-

“SNL” alum Mike Myers was eager to see “Thank You For Your Service,” a film about a soldier struggling to readjust to civilian life after being stationed in Iraq for two reasons.

“Both my parents were in World War II,” he explained. “My dad was in the Royal engineers and my mum was in the Royal Air Force and I was brought up to be very respectful of those that serve.”

Also the Canadianborn funnyman (above) says that his interest in servicemen and women has been stoked since becoming an ambassador for the Invictus Games – the international multi-sporting event established by

Prince Harry in which wounded armed services personnel and veterans take part in sports like wheelchair basketball.

Myers says the ginger royal is “very gregarious, very down to earth and silly but when it comes to running the organization, very in charge and very hands-on.”

And Harry is also it seems a big Austin Powers fan.

The 55-year-old actor says that Harry quoted lines from the cult classic, “a couple of Dr. Evil’s and a couple of Austin Powers’.”
