‘Cards’ gets decked by sex scandal

- Nicole Bitette

NEW EPISODES of the hit series “House of Cards” have been put on hold following accusations that Kevin Spacey made unwanted sexual advances toward a 14-year-old boy decades ago.

Netflix and MRC said in a statement Tuesday that production would shut down indefinitely — just one day after announcing the show would end after this season.

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on ‘House of Cards’ season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the companies said in a statement to Deadline. The cast and crew learned of the decision Tuesday morning.

Actor Anthony Rapp revealed to BuzzFeed Sunday that Spacey (photo) tried to “seduce” him in 1986. Rapp said he was attending an after-party at Spacey’s apartment when the future Academy Award winner picked him up and lay down on top of him on the bed.

“He was trying to get with me sexually,” Rapp said.

Spacey was 26 at the time. The actor offered an apology on Twitter Sunday and came out as gay.
