Dies after being found with guns
A BROOKLYN man — found on a mattress with a cache of guns hidden underneath after his family called to report he was unconscious — has died, sources said Tuesday.
Relatives of Ian Fleming, 36, called 911 on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. after he apparently suffered a heart attack while in bed in his two-story home, the sources said.
As medics and cops were treating Fleming, his mattress moved, revealing two semiautomatic guns, a high-capacity magazine and three air pistols, sources said.
When the homeowner refused to allow a further search of the East Flatbush home, cops obtained a warrant and found 169 rounds of ammunition in addition to the guns.
Medics took Fleming to Downstate Medical Center. He fell into a coma before dying Monday.
Fleming had no criminal record, sources said. The case is being investigated as a death in police custody.
