Wendy: Fainting a ’ween bit ‘scary’

- Nicole Bitette

WENDY WILLIAMS bounced back Wednesday after passing out on air the previous morning.

The talk show host returned to her long-running daytime series to share what caused her to faint — and the memory of it brought her to tears.

The 53-year-old, dressed as the Statue of Liberty during Tuesday’s Halloween-themed episode, stumbled and fell to the ground. Crew members rushed to her aid before the show cut to commercials.

“It was really scary,” Williams told the audience through teary eyes Wednesday.

Williams said it was chaos behind the scenes as the paramedics came to give her tests and make sure everything was OK. She said her tests came out fine and showed she was lacking electrolytes and dehydrated.

In a statement, a rep for the show told the Daily News in that the star had become overheated from the heavy costume, makeup and lights.

Williams acknowedged the media attention she received for the episode.

“I was trending all day,” she said while smiling. “Fabulous.”
