FOR PETE’S SAKE

- Chloe Sevigny, tano w

Saturday night was alright for fighting outside Paul’s Baby Grand. A “massive brawl” involving a table full of British models and friends of the club’s security staff broke out after the Tribeca VIP venue closed over the weekend. The melee, which involved more than two dozen combatants, played out in the streets at 4 a.m. But police were never ever called, and that’s fine with all involved. “These British male models started this gigantic fight — it started out 10 on 10,” according to one participant in the after-hours “Zoolander” skirmish. That brawler said the fight was sparked by a string of verbal confrontations inside the club leading up to closing time. But the haymakers didn’t start raining down until the security staff ushered the pretty boys out of the venue and onto Church St. “These guys were being aggressively British,” according to or spy. “They were being really obnoxious.” Our insider, a regular at the 120-person venue, said that things escalated when the models started insulting club security at the door when the club closed. That’s when some club patrons and off duty staffers, who were also on their way out, mixed it up with the male models. We’re told the bouncers themselves were not involved in the brawl.

“For some reason the cops didn’t show up,” said our insider.

The intimate boite (photo inset) is operated by nightlife whiz Paul Sevigny, whose Beatrice Inn nightclub was the city’s coolest club from 2006 to 2009, much to the ch chagrin of its overwhelmed West Village neighbors. Sevigny, the older brother of actress was not in the club when the fight happened. We’re also told that he was unaware there’d even been an after-hours skirmish outside.

Paul’s Baby Grand, located inside the Roxy Hotel, has been rather neighborly since opening in November 2013. The venue has a policy of not admitting customers after 2 a.m. and Sevigny has said in interviews that he wants his hotspot to be where partygoers start their night — not end it.

“Thirty people were fighting,” according to our aspiring pugilist. “It just didn’t stop for 10 minutes.”

A club rep was surprised to hear of the incident and had no comment.

“It was the most New York fight ever,” laughed our spy.
