ANDERSON, McCOWN CLICK

After an agonizingly slow start to 2017, Muhammad Wilkerson has started to look like himself again. In a 34-21 victory over the Bills Thursday night at MetLife Stadium, Wilkerson finished with a sack, two quarterback hits and a pass defended, helping lead an energetic and stingy performance from the Jets defense.

T he defensive l i ne - man failed to record a sack through the first seven games of the season but now has one in each of the past two games, showing the differencemaker form that made the 28-year-old a Pro Bowler in 2015.

“He’s doing great,” Todd Bowles said of Wilkerson, who was questionable for Thursday’s game with shoulder and toe injuries he’s been battling most of this season. “The attitude, his work ethic, he comes to treatment every day, he makes sure he’s ready to play on Sunday. I don’t know how he does it, but we’ll see if he can keep it up.”

Added outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins, who sacked Tyrod Taylor twice in the victory: “He’s a hell of leader, man. He may not talk to the media a lot. He may not be outspoken. But…he’s definitely one of the leaders on this team.” 24-7. Taylor completed a pass to tight end Nick O-Leary for a gain of 20 yards. O’Leary fell to the ground and got up without being touched. Maye was aware of the situation and helped corral O’Leary before ripping the ball out. Adams then recovered.

“I just went for the strip and it came out,” Maye said. My partner in crime jumped on it.”

Adams and Maye continue to impress their teammates. “Them two are the best safeties I’ve ever seen, especially as rookies,” said Demario Davis. “They probably should both be competing for rookie of the year.”

Second-year wide receiver Robby Anderson caught a touchdown for the third straight game Thursday, a 25-yard strike in the third quarter that made it a two-possession game.

Anderson is developing uncanny chemistry with Josh McCown, and he offered praise for his quarterback after the win.
