S.I. woman, 68, killed by pickup

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman died after she was hit by a pickup truck in Staten Island, police said Friday.

Margherita Palumbo was crossing Jewett Ave. midblock near Victory Blvd. in Westerleigh, about 10 blocks from her home, when a 2017 Toyota Tacoma slammed into her about 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, cops said.

Medics rushed Palumbo to Richmond University Medical Center, where she died later that day.

The driver, a 52-year-old man, remained on the scene and was not charged, cops said.
