LEADER OF THE BAND

Michael Beasley came on for Kristaps Porzingis toward the end of the third quarter, scoring 11 points in a matter of minutes and giving the Knicks a spark that helped them close out the game.

After missing his first few attempts, Beasley took off his headband before his scoring streak, joking that “it was a little heavy.”

“The win is what I think about,” he said. “How many points I score or how many shots I get, is all miniscule compared to if we win or not.

“Y’all know what I think (about this team), everyone thinks I’m crazy for what I think, but we’re just going to take it a day at a time and continue to have fun.”
