Gov: Prez telling us to ‘drop dead’

GOV. CUOMO on Saturday channeled a famed Daily News headline to telegraph a message to President Trump about the recently released Republican tax plan.

“As far as I’m concerned, this is President Trump saying ‘drop dead’ to New Yorkers because that’s what this is,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo’s comments riffed on a legendary headline The News published after President Ford refused to authorize federal loans to a bankrupt New York City.

“FORD TO CITY: DROP DEAD,” the front page of the newspaper read in 1975.

Cuomo blasted the GOP’s tax plan, introduced in the House this week, and said it puts an unnecessary burden on Trump’s home state.

“This is a plan that is harsher on this state than almost any other state in the United States,” Cuomo said. “Basic line is taxation is supposed to be fair.”
