Live your Lego dream at a bed & brick-fast

- BY JOE DZIEMIANOWICZ

Spend Thanksgiving weekend crafting your favorite foods out of Legos and having the designs whipped into the real thing. It’s the house that Lego built — and you can stay overnight and make it “your family’s private playground” on Nov. 24.

That’s if you win the Airbnb contest which is key to opening the door for you and three of your nearest and dearests to the house that took three years to build in the brick-by-brick aesthetic. It’s in the small town of Billund, Denmark, where the time-tested snap-happy toy was invented.

Each contestant must write about what they’d build with an endless supply of Legos and submit entry forms by Nov. 16. “Unleash your imagination, bring your wildest Lego vision to life, and fall asleep surrounded by 25 million bricks,” the contest rules tease.

On the day after Thanksgiving, winners will arrive at the house in time for lunch. Before the meal is served, guests must construct what they want to eat from Legos. Cooks will translate the toy bricks to real food.

After that, the day is all about indulging your wildest Lego dreams. That’s what the Lego lair is made for — and of. Inside there are Lego trees, beds, chairs, and, for an extra splash, a waterfall. In the morning, there better be brick-fast in bed.

Contest details are at airbnb.ie/night-at/lego-house.
